Ah, love. It is beautiful, no? It seems to make everything and everyone else around you disappear, leaving just you and your sweetie, and your passionate embrace.
Or such was the experience of a Billings couple who, engaged in playing a heated match of tonsil hockey, totally missed that armed gunmen were robbing the bar they were in.
Maybe that sort of thing is par for the course in Billings, where big city living means that there's no time to slow down and smell the roses, the coffee, or the gunpowder.
The incredible event in question occurred at the Tap Inn on Broadwater Avenue in 2016. Three armed gunmen, all in dark clothes and ski masks, entered the bar. They aimed the guns at the bartender and the other customers, and everyone's hands went up. Everyone except for the couple at the bar, who were unable to detach lips. The robbers evidently thought that this was sufficient proof that they weren't calling the cops or reaching for their own concealed weapons (it's Montana, we assume they were all packing), leaving them alone.
