2015 Sweet Grass Fest
June 26-27, 2015
Sweet Grass Fest is an event designed to bring visitors to Big Timber so that they can experience the authentic charm of its main street and witness the spectacular natural wonders in the county. The festival is rapidly becoming known for their taste in concert selection with focus on the southern country-rock sounds of Red Dirt music.
This year’s main stage concerts will feature multi-platinum selling country group, BlackHawk on Friday night as well as Austin, Texas singer/songwriter, Kyle Park on Saturday. Two other acts out of Texas, TJ Broscoff and Shotgun Rider, perform on the event’s main stage. Young country music sensation, Lexi Wyman from north-central North Dakota and Tris Munsick and the Innocents from Sheridan, Wyoming round out the 2015 line-up.
The Main Stage Concerts will be held under the Festival Tent in the American Legion parking lot on Anderson Street between 2nd and 3rd Street on Friday and Saturday Nights after the Big Timber Rodeo performances.
Sweet Grass Fest is produced by VI Productions and is the primary fundraising activity for the Sweet Grass County Chamber of Commerce. Coupled with the Big Timber Rodeo, whose roots run deep into the heart of rodeo history, Sweet Grass Fest is designed to share our special place. There is something for everyone — an antique car show, 5k Fun Run, Main Street parade, firefighters’ breakfast, and more! Visit www.BigTimber.com for more details.
The Annual Yellowstone Boat Float
July 10 – 12, 2015
The Annual Yellowstone Boat Float is an exciting 3-day float and camping adventure that retraces the route of William Clark of the Lewis and Clark expedition down the Yellowstone River. The float starts at 8 a.m. on Friday in Livingston at the Mayor’s Landing Boat Launch. After all day on the river, stop in Big Timber to enjoy camping, food, and live music. Find riverside music at the Thompson Ranch across from the Otter Creek Fishing Access, then hop a free shuttle bus to downtown for the street dance. The float continues Saturday morning with a trip to Reed Point. Don’t forget to pull-over for riverside parties and water fun and, of course, Hot Dog Island. End the second day with an overnight stop in Reed Point, another street dance, and more live music. Wrap up the weekend on Sunday, when all of the hard-core floaters will load-in for one more day on the water and finish the float in Columbus. Remember, be safe, prepare for the elements, and most of all, create a weekend of memories and new friends.
