NEWS: Robertson Draw Fire Continues To Burn, 45% Contained

The Robertson Draw fire, the largest in Montana so far this season, continues to burn, although some evacuation orders have been lifted and those on the scene report they've made advances in containing the fire over the weekend.  

As of Saturday the 19th of June, there were over 28,000 acres burning, with 0% containment.  Now, as of this morning they have reported that there are now over 29,000 acres burning, but the fire is 45% contained at the perimeter.  

It is believed that the fire was started by humans, whether accidentally or with malicious intent being unknown at this time, although it is being investigated. 

Firefighter crews have been rushing to burn the unburned fuel (including brush, wood, etc.) on the edges of the fire in order to hinder its spread.  It has been at least somewhat successful.  Authorities are hopeful that cooler weather and predicted thunderstorms and precipitation later in the week will help to put the fire out. 

At the time of this writing, an evacuation order still stands for the area along the east side of Highway 212.  If you live in that area and have not already, please leave for your own safety.
